1978 Oday 23' Sailboat

For sale is a 1978 Oday 23'. Boat is in great shape. Used seasonally, typically June to September on the Ohio river in Louisville, KY. Hulled cleaned after the end of each season. Bottom of the boat was re-coated 2 seasons ago. Re-painted sections of the deck for added walking traction while sailing. Engineered a manual steering mechanism to allow the sailor control of the rudder anywhere on the deck (pulley system). It can be easily removed. Sails are all in perfect working order. No tears. The wood trim was all sanded and resealed last season, but the seal did not hold. Just needs to be sealed again for better appearance. Cabin doors were removed and replaced with custom built fiberglass panels.(Still have originals) Interior is stock and has no issues. Two marine 6 1/2 speakers were put in 2 seasons ago which are connected to a standard Kenwood car cd receiver. There are also two 6X9 JBL's in individual boxes inside the cabin. CB radio is usable as well. 2006 Mercury 6Hp outboard motor that runs brilliantly. Center board channel was fitted with a 1/2" PVC pipe to eliminate the cracking of the top of the channel on the deck.(Pictured) This boat is a blast and is a great way to learn the art of sailing or just to get back into this amazing hobby. Comes with the trailer pictured which has good tires and working lights. Also with the boat is a system custom made to allow one person the ability to raise and attach the mast with relative ease.(Very handy when the sailing season comes around).
